Character Games

FORTUNE TELLER:

Open and Print the Character Teller attachment (PDF) and follow the instructions provided:

• Have someone choose one of the four key areas Learn, Live, Work or Play.
• Spell the word out, while moving the Character teller in and out.
• Then have the person choose one of the numbers that is showing. Move the Character teller in and out the right number of times.
• When you finish, have the person choose one of the four visible numbers.
• Open up the flap they choose
• Read their character focus for the day. Enjoy!

CHARACTER BINGO:

Pick up a Creating Community BINGO CARD at the mall or download the BINGO CARD here and print it (PDF format):

Complete the tasks identified on the card. Send your completed card to the Character Community Foundation of York Region, 17250 Yonge St. Newmarket, ON L3Y 6Z1

• Send along a short story answering the following questions:
  1. What does community mean to you?
  2. Do you feel connected to the community you live in? Describe some of your connections.
  3. Do you have any ideas on how we can build better communities?
     
     
• We will draw 3 winners each month in November 2009, December 2009 and January 2010 from the cards and short stories received.
• The winners each month will receive a Character Community loot bag

TVOKids is dedicated to helping children develop a sense of good character, which will help them become responsible and caring citizens. The Super Citizen project helps to promote ethical values as the basis of good character.

For fun activities to do at home or school pick up copies at the malls during Character Community Week or print off the parent/teacher guide and colouring sheets below.
