APRIL Attribute is RESPECT.

WHAT IS RESPECT?

I will treat myself and others with consideration, high regard, courtesy and dignity.

I WILL:

•   Be polite, dignified, honourable and positive in my dealings

with others.

•   Honour people’s rights.

•   Treat other people’s belongings, the environment and the world around us with due consideration.

•   Demonstrate respect for myself by behaving in the above manner.

RESPECT is when you show good manners, pay attention; treat others as you would like to be treated.

"Respect is a two-way street, if you want to get it; you've got to give it.”

— R. G. Risch

MUSIC ALIVE comes to Character Community Foundation.

On behalf of the Character Community Foundation of York Region we would like to welcome the Music Alive family to the fold!
We are honoured to have been asked to take on this program that is now over twelve years old and runs as a York Region wide Music Festival.
Its inclusive nature involves Public, Catholic, Private Schools and community musicians and it is unique in that it is a non-competitive, educational festival that offers participants the opportunity to receive a rating based on international standards. Music encompasses and encourages many of the attributes we promote such as Perserverance, Initiative, Fairness, Inclusiveness, Respect and Responsibility.
Music Alive spans over a number of weeks beginning in early April and running to mid May and it involves well over 8500 musicians.
It is financially supported by the private sector, school boards and participants. Music Alive is administered by a committee of volunteers drawn from industry, the community and our schools.

Click here to visit the Music Alive Festival website for more information and registration.

In 2008 Music Alive became fully affiliated with MusicFest Canada.

The goals of Music Alive are.......
• to celebrate the joy of sharing musical experiences;
• to promote reciprocal learning from peers and colleagues;
• and to foster the growth of teachers and students in musicality and self-esteem.

We at the Character Community Foundation are thrilled that we can showcase Character Through the Arts with this wonderful festival and look forward to being involved in the coming year.
