Kathleen Redmond
Kathleen Redmond is an internationally recognized corporate coach (certified by International
Coaching Federation), trainer, and keynote speaker. Her company, currently renamed Centre
for Character Leadership, established in 1993, notably advances organizations in the areas of
performance management, workplace effectiveness and employee retention.
With over 25 years of management experience and a passion for what she does best, Kathleen has worked in the
heart of industry, training and coaching leaders, delivering keynote addresses and creating
programs that positively impact organizational outcomes.
The culmination of her work,
expertise and research are in her book: Rules of Engagement for Communicating at Work: 5
Strategies for Decreasing Conflict and Increasing Collaboration.
Kathleen has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Adult
Education from Central Michigan University. She is a master trainer for Development
Dimensions International (DDI), training and certifying facilitators to deliver programs focusing
on behavioural based interviewing techniques, leadership, team building, communication skills
and coaching.
Kathleen is certified to administer Myers-Briggs Type Indicator™, True Colors®, Reuven Bar-
On EQ-i™ and Personality Dimensions™. She has completed mediation training through
Osgoode Hall Law School. She has created two web enabled assessments based on the concepts
of character and 5 strategies for decreasing conflict and increasing collaboration; Rules of
Engagement Organizational Survey™ and Leadership by Engagement 360° Assessment™.
Facilitating training sessions in English and French, Kathleen has successfully worked with
companies such as Delta Hotels, General Motors, Town of Aurora, Town of East Gwillimbury,
Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Coca Cola Enterprises, Royal Canadian Mint, Cara
Operations Limited, Community Living and Harlequin Enterprises, moving them toward a
working environment that is productive, collaborative and meaningful for employees, managers
and senior leaders.
Kathleen has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in Turkey, France,
Barbados, Hawaii as well as North America, with managers and educators. She was a professor
at Humber College in the Hotel and Restaurant Management program for five years and was
Coordinator of the program for two years. She taught Developing Management Skills to fourth
year B.A. students at the University of Guelph (HAFA Programme).
Kathleen is currently a member of The Canadian Association of Professional Speakers,
International Coaching Federation, the Association of Consultants, Counselors, Psychometrists
and Psychotherapists and Human Resource Professional Association of Ontario. She is proud to
be a Character Business Associate of York Region. Her articles have been repeatedly published
in The Globe and Mail as well as other publications. In 60 Seconds – the monthly on-line
newsletter for “workplace communication news” has wide circulation.
Kathleen has created a boutique learning organization affiliated with seasoned, highly skilled
and professional associates. Projects are customized for each client depending on individual
needs, desired outcomes, timelines and budget. Many clients have been clients for ten years or
