Conferences
In its commitment to raising awareness about the importance of fostering and demonstrating good character, the Character Community Council sponsors an annual conference entitled Building Communities of Character.
The purpose of the Conference is to provide delegates with the tools needed to develop strategies to implement the initiative in their homes, organizations, workplaces, and community.
Through keynote speakers, workshops, and panel discussions delegates learn about the importance and benefits of good character and hear about the personal experiences of those who have developed and implemented the character initiative, including their challenges and successes.
In 2006, to honour those residents who made a difference through their character, the Character Community Council held the First Annual Character Community Awards. A slideshow presentation was created of the awards ceremony -complete with nominees and winners - and can be downloaded here. (Warning: 3 MB file)
