York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB)

In September, 2003, the York Catholic District School Board designed its poster, York Catholic Communities of Faith. The design is anchored with a cross containing the important values of Catholic teachings such as the Ten Commandments, catholic Graduate Expectations, the Board's mission statement, Beatitudes, The Great Commandment and Fruits of the Holy Spirit. The cross is encircled by the Character Attributes and is surrounded by bold colours in a deliberate decision to attract the eyes of young people - the target audience.

Each of the Board's 88 schools displays a large version of this poster in a prominent location while a smaller version is posted in every classroom.

The Character Community theme will be integrated into the classroom and students will be encouraged to develop a strong sense of character both inside and outside of the classroom.
